Personal Statement

I have strong academic credibility, intellectual curiosity and do identify with the vision and culture of  University of Lagos. I am immersed in the field of Education in the past three decades learning, teaching, researching and developing my profession. I therefore, exist to pursue and administer high impact research that will contribute positively to quality living and longevity of Nigerians. My research findings and its application is my key to National Emancipation and Development. I have successfully completed research works in cardiovascular health and physical activity as reflected in my publications. Beyond my academic achievements, I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of scholars, particularly female academics and students. I have consistently provided guidance, support, and opportunities for young women to thrive in academia, helping to break barriers and foster inclusion. Through  informal support systems, I have inspired many to rise above limitations, pursue excellence, and assume leadership in their respective fields. In all, I see myself as a scholar-leader, deeply invested in research, mentorship, and service.
